Lizards
Nutrition
Chango, our Bearded Dragon, eats both plants and meat. His diet is 80% greens such as Kale, Dandelion and Collard Greens. The other 20% is crickets and occasional wax worms or a green horned worm. The Green Anoles eat only meat such as pin head crickets.
Habitat
Chango is a native of Australia and therefore enjoys a hot dry environment. The Green Anoles can be found in the Southern US. They enjoy a warm damp environment. We do our best to recreate the optimal environment for both types of lizards.
Well-Being
In 214, we do our very best to create comfortable environments for the animals. The tanks are heated and kept on timers so that they receive the appropriate daily hours of sunlight (heat) and UVB rays. The UVB is necessary to promote healthy bones in both Chango and the Green Anoles.

Chango is currently staying warm and cozy at Ms. Kutch's house. He is now brumating. Brumation is a type of hibernation. Since Chango is from a much warmer climate, the change in temperature during fall to winter triggers his desire to sleep for longer periods of time. He sleeps more and eats much less. In order to not interupt what he and his body want to do, he is going to stay with Ms. Kutch until after the holidays.
